On 1st December, a lucky selection of friends and clients of Chanel were invited to a St Tropez themed evening at the Saatchi Gallery in London. Although the invitation (pictured) specified a St Tropez dress code, the December snow proved too much for the guests and the usual black fail-safe outfits were out in abundance.
The evening began with some delicious canapés (my personal favourite - the incredibly long, thin cheese straws). We were then led through to the dining area, decked out with small round tables and complete with a cocktail bar and special wallpaper of the original Cruise 2010/2011 fashion show (which took place in St Tropez...hence the theme!).
Dinner consisted of several taster-size portions of each course....again, divine! I have pictured the menu to show you how mouth-wateringly scrumptious the food really was!
After dinner, we were treated to the pièce de résistance - the fashion show! As enough of the other guests were snapping away, I tried to take some photos and even a video (!) for you, my lovely readers...alas I was too engrossed in the clothes themselves to take anything Testino worthy. Nonetheless, I have posted my pitiful video below.
Finally....a Chanel event would not be complete without a gorgeous goody bag! In previous years, Chanel have treated us to a travel set of the Coco Mademoiselle perfume and, on more than one occasion, a complete set of miniature splash bottles of Les Exclusifs de Chanel perfumes. This year, however, we all received a power brush, mascara, lipgloss, nail polish and set of wet/dry eyeshadows (mentioned in my earlier post on black eyeliner).
